Spring brings Green building

Home » Blog » Community » Spring brings Green building

Spring has sprung and so has the building season.  Builders have broken ground on two new homes up in our Net Zero loop.  One will be a two-story custom home for new neighbors and the other is a single level, three bedroom, two bath home that we are building for resale.  Both houses will be highly energy efficient LEED and Net Zero certified. LEED certification ensures that they are built green, with sustainable methods and materials, and energy efficient systems throughout, while the builder also takes care to minimize waste and erosion.  LEED also signifies a home that is healthy inside and out with low or no VOCs so that the indoor air quality is exceptionally comfortable and safe. Net Zero means that the home is designed to produce as much energy through its solar panels as the typical household would use–a net zero use of energy. It’s wonderful to welcome new neighbors to the community!  Besides living in new, comfortable, energy efficient homes, they’ll realize the benefit of our many wonderful amenities.  They’ll get to share in the bounty of the orchards and gardens picking fresh fruit and veggies when it is ripe and ready, get to know the chickens and ducks and enjoy fresh eggs, and spend time in the community center, creekside, and wandering the 12 acres of green spaces in our walkable and bike able neighborhoods.
