Holiday Festivities at Pringle Creek Community

Residents and chickens had a bit of fun this past Saturday celebrating the Easter holiday.  A number of children and their families came out and had a lot of fun with a holiday Easter egg hunt throughout the property.  There was also an opportunity for photos.  Colleen Owen, our Urban Farmer and gardening guru, Jonathan Schachter, our Director of Development, and one of our chickens took advantage of the photographic event and sat in for pictures.  Colleen used her chicken harness and leash to share the festivities with one of our chickens.  Despite the partly rainy weather, a good time ... Spring brings Green building

Spring has sprung and so has the building season.  Builders have broken ground on two new homes up in our Net Zero loop.  One will be a two-story custom home for new neighbors and the other is a single level, three bedroom, two bath home that we are building for resale.  Both houses will be highly energy efficient LEED and Net Zero certified. One visitor is Dave Hunt who regularly walks his dog, Luna, around the Pringle Creek Community property.  He and Luna are very friendly. Luna is an exuberant 2 year old mix who is always wiggly ... Kerry Fox, Pringle Creek Community's Sustainability Outreach Coordinator, co-hosts a weekly morning segment on Salem's public radio station, KMUZ each Wednesday morning where Kerry features local and regional guests who join her to speak about ways the Salem community specifically, and Oregon in general, are addressing community sustainability.  You can hear her segment between 8:00 - 9:00 on 100.7 FM, 88.5 FM, or streamed at www.KMUZ.org. Have you heard the analogy ... Read more
