Goats Grazing in the City

The goats are coming, the goats are coming!  Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17th, Yoder Goat rental is bringing about 30 goats to Pringle Creek Community to help control the invasive weeds along our stretch of Pringle Creek.  They'll stay with us until their job is finished - likely through Friday or Saturday this week, March 20th or 21st.  The Yoder's will put a few goats in a separate pen sometime during their stay, either Thursday or Friday, to allow children to get up close to the goats - to allow the kids to meet the kids! Open House Saturday, March 28th

Finishes and Features - an open house event highlighting our newly constructed, energy efficient, 'Net Zero' home will be Saturday, March 28 from 1-4pm. The house is located at 1884 John Muir Circle SE in Salem, OR. The open house is part of the builder’s “Building Better Buildings” event series where the public is invited to tour a recently completed custom high performance home. Zero Waste is catching on!

  I was just reading an article in the on-line newsletter EcoWatch and came across an article about a young woman in New York City who's only accumulated a mason jar's worth of waste in two years while living a zero-waste lifestyle!  Right on! At Pringle Creek Community, we've been living and modeling 'zero-waste' since 2010. Nice to see that the idea is gaining momentum! Read more
