Have a hankering to try your hand at urban farming? Now’s your chance! Back by popular demand is the Urban Farmer class provided by the Sustainable Living Center (SLC) and taught by our Urban Farmer extraordinaire, Colleen Owen. Colleen Owen is a certified Master Gardener with years of experience with how to make gardens flourish in an urban environment. Not only has she had success with flourishing produce in the spring and summer seasons, but she also has the expertise to make the most of your garden during the more dormant winter months. Colleen Owen runs a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) enjoyed by Pringle Creek Community residents and the surrounding community as well as coordinating the community gardening plots, and making sure the chickens are happy little feathered-friends. She also manages the orchards that are bursting with apples, pears, and other luscious fruits throughout the spring and summer seasons. Need we say more? The Urban Farmer classes by the Sustainable Living Center start on February 4th, of 2017. You may reserve a spot by contacting Colleen Owen at firstname.lastname@example.org, and view more details on what topics will be covered here.
