What is Shovel Ready?

All of our lots are!  All lots at Pringle Creek Community are ready for you - all necessary hook-ups are already in, ready for construction of your new home. We've just listed four lots with Living Room Realty:  one in our Net Zero Loop, where your home will use solar power to create as much energy as you'll need; one in our Live-Work area, where you could build a home with a retail studio/work space on the main floor and live in the above two or three levels;  and two lots on our Cousteau Loop neighborhood where your home would ... Sustainability on KMUZ, Salem’s Public Radio Station!

What is 'sustainability,' really?   Although it is a term that has gotten a lot of use, some would say over use, it is important to be clear about intention. Kerry Fox, Pringle Creek Community's Sustainability Outreach Coordinator, co-hosts a weekly morning segment on Salem's public radio station, KMUZ each Wednesday morning where Kerry features local and regional guests who join her to speak about ways the Salem community specifically, and Oregon in general, are addressing community sustainability.  You can hear her segment between 8:00 - 9:00 on 100.7 FM, 88.5 FM, or streamed at www.KMUZ.org. 2016 is Here! See the New Developments at PCC

Happy New Year!  2016 is here!  We're excited about the possibilities the new year brings.  We've started a new business relationship this year, we are now an authorized B-Corporation, we're breaking ground on two new resident's homes, we're planning new spec home builds, and we're going to garden like never before! As mentioned in a recent blog, we've begun a new business relationship with Living Room Realty (LRR), a real estate group that is grounded in the same sustainable principles as we are.  The LRR brokers we're working with, Gavin Shettler, Julia Robertson, and Nicolette Hannah are experts in green ... You Can Become a Master Recycler

Is that pizza box recyclable?  How about the almond milk box?  Or a brown glass vitamin bottle?  And the lid?  Can you recycle that, too?  Will I ruin an entire 'batch' of city recycling if I am not sure and put an item into the recycling that isn't actually recycle-able?  These are common questions and concerns people have regarding recycling.  Although people are much more comfortable recycling than they were 10 years ago, there's still a number of unknowns and questions regarding how Marion County's system works and what is actually recycle-able.  When people aren't sure, they either put ... Truly a Community Center

Our community center, Painters Hall, is the main hub of Pringle Creek Community (PCC) life where community members gather for yoga, movie night, walking group, family, and celebratory events. Painters Hall is a beautiful Net Zero building, meaning that through its 220Kwh solar array it makes as much energy (more, in our case) as it requires to serve its energy needs annually.  It is an award-winning Net Zero and LEED platinum commercial building, the first of its kind in the country! Painters Hall serves as both a model of environmental sustainability as well as a community meeting place that ... Read more
